Global recession. High gas prices. Wall Street bailouts. What a lovely time for a car show, isn't it? The average Lamborghini
buyer's probably thinking more about a noose right now than how tempting the prospect of a four-door, front-engine bull might
be. Still, the show must go on and fear not you day traders — the Paris auto show is home to some high-class fuel savers
as well, including the Mercedes-Benz S-class hybrid and a BMW 7-series with the same technology. If you're still into revving
engines and consuming conspicuously, Audi's RS6 sedan might be the ticket, though the new S4 should stir some excitement as
well. But let's not forget the common man, either. Mazda is showing a preview of a possible minicar, while Chevrolet is
throwing its future (the remainder of it not invested in the Volt) behind the new Cobalt-replacing Cruze. If you're really in
the ditch, well, we're sure Dacia is showing something nice, too.
