NAIAS Blog: Fisker Rebodies Promise with Karma

Up until now, Henrik Fisker's post Aston Martin days have been known for coachbuilt BMWs or Mercs sporting a badge with his own name. That's cool and all, but the idea of a rebodied (and massively expensive) 6er isn't exactly relevant to the general automotive consumer. In contrast, Fisker's latest offering dubbed "Karma" isn't exactly an economy car at a projected $80K. Still, when you consider the lithe and low sedan is a hybrid capable of running 50 miles on solely an evening's plugging-in when driven in "stealth mode", or knocking off a 5.8 second 0-60 while sounding like "a mix of an F1 car and a jet" in "sport mode", the Karma just got a whole lot more relevant. Mr. Fisker's hopes for his brand's first truly bespoke offering are high, and well they should be as the Karma is expected to hit the market by the fourth quarter of 2009.
