SEMA 2008: Volkswagen Jetta TDI Cup "Street" and Tiguan Performance Concepts

Volkswagen released a press release today for two SEMA cars debuting this week, but unfortunately no images were included. As such, we're going to speculate. The first is a Jetta TDI Cup "Street" edition, and the appearance package will be offered through dealers with the car costing $26,995. It doesn't include any performance mods to the 140-hp turbo-diesel engine, and we're projecting that the exterior kit will make it look like the TDI racer you see here, only without the stickers.

The second car, the TIguan Performance concept, uses a stage three Turbo kit to extract 312 hp and 319 lb-ft from the 2.0-liter turbocharged gas engine. That's about all we know, except that our VWvortex.com sister site happened to photograph an official Volkswagen car with those same performance attributes (and bigger wheels) at a recent VW enthusiast event. We're unsure whether anything has been done to the car since, but click through for a bigger picture to get an idea of what it'll look like.
